AR Rahman is the second Indian to win Oscar. Bhanu Athaiya is the first Indian to win Oscar for the best costume designer for the movie “Gandhi” in the year 1982. After 25 years, Rahman is the second Indian to win Oscar for the movie “Slumdog Millionaire”. He has been mominated for three Oscars awards. Two for the best original song and one for the best original score. He has already won a Golden Globe award for the same movie Slumdog Millionaire.

According to Rahman, Slumdog Millionaire is not his best and it was an unexpected surprise. He has been nominated for the songs “Jai Ho” and”O Saya”. He is the first Indian to win Golden Globe and an Oscar nominee for Music. It is a great tribute to this Indian for winning Oscar.
