2 OSCAR WINNER FOR SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE The Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman won 2 Oscars during 81st Academy Awaeds held in Los Angels on 23rd February 2009 . He is the first Indian to win 2 Oscars. The 43-year-old composer of “Slumdog Millionaire” movie has been awarded for his best original soundtrack and best original song for this Indian Hollywood movie. Danny Boyle is the director this movie. AR Rahman has been nominated for his two songs “O Saya” and ”Jai Ho”. Finally he won one of his two Oscars for the later one.
AR Rahman from India has made a great history by winning two Oscars for a single movie. According to him, it is not his best sound track and he is surprised to get such a prestigious award for this movie Slumdog Millionaire. He has proved him as a great musical maestro to this World. It is a great honour for Indians and people from Tamilnadu are very exited to see a Tamilan getting 2 Oscars for a single movie.
