KATE WINSLET - WON OSCAR FOR THE MOVIE "THE READER""

Kate Winslet has won her first Oscar for the movie “The Reader” for the best performance of an Actress in a leading role. She was earlier nominated for 5 Oscars Awards. She has also won 36 awards and nominated for 58 awards. She was born on 5^th October 1975 in Berkshire, London. She became world famous by her movie Titanic, in which casted the character of Rose.

The Reader – Kate’s Oscar winning movie was directed by Stephen Daldry and the story was written by David Hare and Bernhard Schlink. The important casting were done by Ralph Fiennes(Michael Berg), Jeanette Hain(Brigitte), David Kross(Young Michael Berg), and Kate Winslet(Hanna Schmitz). The movie depicts the time of Second World War(WWII), where a teenager unfortunately has a secret affair with an elder lady Hanna. But Hanna is twice the age of Michael and they meet each other after many years under different circumstances which moves the story to a dramatic end.

MILK - SEAN PENN WON OSCAR

Sean Penn has won an Oscar for the Best Actor of the movie Milk released on 22^nd December 2008. He was born on 17^th August 1960 in Santa Monica of California (USA). The 49 year old Hollywood actor has earlier won Oscar for his movie Mystic River (2003). He was nominated three times for Oscar and two times for BAFTA Film Award. He has also won 42 awards and nominated for 46 awards. He is the brother-in-law of Aimee Mann.

The director of the movie Milk is Gus Van Sant and the story is written by Dustin Lance Black. In the movie Milk, Harvey milk – a middle aged New Yorker moves to San Francisco where he becomes as a Gay Rights Activist and finally the city politician. This movie has won two Oscars.

AR RAHMAN - 2 OSCAR AWARDS WINNER

2 OSCAR WINNER FOR SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

The Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman won 2 Oscars during 81st Academy Awaeds held in Los Angels on 23rd February 2009 . He is the first Indian to win 2 Oscars. The 43-year-old composer of “Slumdog Millionaire” movie has been awarded for his best original soundtrack and best original song for this Indian Hollywood movie. Danny Boyle is the director this movie. AR Rahman has been nominated for his two songs “O Saya” and ”Jai Ho”. Finally he won one of his two Oscars for the later one.

AR Rahman from India has made a great history by winning two Oscars for a single movie. According to him, it is not his best sound track and he is surprised to get such a prestigious award for this movie Slumdog Millionaire. He has proved him as a great musical maestro to this World. It is a great honour for Indians and people from Tamilnadu are very exited to see a Tamilan getting 2 Oscars for a single movie.

AR Rahman is the second Indian to win Oscar. Bhanu Athaiya is the first Indian to win Oscar for the best costume designer for the movie “Gandhi” in the year 1982. After 25 years, Rahman is the second Indian to win Oscar for the movie “Slumdog Millionaire”. He has been mominated for three Oscars awards. Two for the best original song and one for the best original score. He has already won a Golden Globe award for the same movie Slumdog Millionaire.

According to Rahman, Slumdog Millionaire is not his best and it was an unexpected surprise. He has been nominated for the songs “Jai Ho” and”O Saya”. He is the first Indian to win Golden Globe and an Oscar nominee for Music. It is a great tribute to this Indian for winning Oscar. The day for Rahman’s glorious path will surely happen and is not faraway from his hands.

TERMINATOR SALVATION - THE FUTURE BEGINS TOMORROW

Terminator Salvation is the 4th continuation part of the Hollywood blockbuster movie Terminator. The film is yet to be released on 21st May 2009 in USA. The director of the movie is McG(Joseph McGinty Nichol). Titanic fame James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd are the writers of this movie. Genre of this movie includes action, adventure and thriller. The important characters in the film are casted by Christian Bale(John Connor), Sam Worthington(Marcus Wright), Bryce Dallas Howard(Kate Connor) and Anton Yelchin(Kyle Reese).

Story Plot: Skynet and its army of Terminators destroy the entire world. One man whose fate is to lead the human power against Skynet and its Terminator is John Connor.
